Pierre-Auguste Vafflard (1777-1837) was a French artist and pupil of Jean-Baptiste Regnault. His subjects were classicism, history, genre and portraiture. He exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon from 1800, and received a gold medal in 1824. Under the July Monarchy, he supervised the restoration of paintings in the palaces of Versailles and the Tuileries. These prints are after Vafflard, lithographed by Fortune, and printed by the famous Parisian art printer G Aubeut.
