FRANCESCO AQUILA
Aquila was an eminent Italian engraver and nephew of the celebrated Pietro Aquila. He was born around 1676 worked in Rome.
The set of four vases are illustrated with the languishing figures of antique Greek sculptures. These were evidently taken from original sculptures. The vases are perched on concrete plinths beyond which lie scenes of beautiful Italian landscapes.
