GAETANO SAVORELLI

info
Savorelli was a painter and draughtsman who worked in Rome from 1750 to 1775. He is best known for his drawings of Raphael's Loggia in the Vatican which were engraved by Giovanni Ottaviani. Raphael's beautiful designs for the loggia, which were part of an enormous scheme of decoration for the Vatican commissioned by Pope Julius II and his successor Pope Leo X, depict subjects from the Old Testament.
