MICHELANGELO PERGOLESI C.1780 ref: 66HC
Michelangelo Pergolesi was an Italian decorative artist, primarily a designer rather than an executant in any one medium. He came to England in 1770 and worked both independently and for the Adam brothers. He is probably most famous for the work he did with Robert Adam when he was one of the principal decorators - in particular the Long Gallery at Sion House. He published a series of beautiful decorative designs for murals, panels, ceilings, furniture decoration, friezes and urns.
