PETER WARD

info
An early interest in woodwork led Peter Ward to a Diploma course in cabinet making in Shoreditch in the early 1960's and on to a Degree in furniture design at the Royal College of Art. This was followed by a successful career as a designer in the furniture manufacturing industry, working in many areas from beds, cabinets and dining furniture to upholstery. Shown here are paintings from his 1963 thesis illustrating the use of wood, metal, fibreglass, moulded plywood, fabric and leather in the production of chairs, featuring designs by Conran, Harry Bertoia, Robin Day, Hans Wegner, Charles and Ray Eames and others.
